1. One of the biggest reasons I
want to work in Yemen is to learn Arabic. I am, therefore, very
interested in working and receiving Arabic lessons. Can you tell
me a little bit about the lessons: Who teaches the class? Is it
a private class? What are the teaching methods used by the
instructor?
All classes are usually on a one-to-one basis. Normally, we
advise that you take the four skills using Modern Standard
Arabic (media Arabic) , using the Georgetown Al -Kitaab
curriculum. Our instructors possess several years' experience of
teaching Arabic to non-natives and speak English fluently.
2. Which book(s) / tape(s) do
you use for beginner instruction? Is the cost included in the
$1660 total?
Al Kitaab Fi Taalum Al Arabia (the Red Book) by Brustad,
Georgetown. All study materials are included.
3. I would like to study
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and colloquial Yemeni Arabic. Is it
possible to combine the two lessons?
You can start with Yemeni Arabic and then move to MSA. The two
are closer than most other Arabic dialects.
