MALI is a
co-educational institution. Our classes average between 16-20
students in each class. Students range in age from 18-30. We
have nine levels of English and we use our own English
Proficiency Exam to place students. The classes are divided into
three beginner levels, three intermediate and three advanced. In
addition, conversation and business classes are also offered.
Terms are
five weeks long. During a term, students receive 50 hours of
classroom instruction divided into 2 hours every weekday. In
between each term there's a one-week break (for Student
Enrollment) in which you are free to travel or tour the country.
The
curriculum we use is called Spectrum, published by Simon
& Schuster. It stresses communication skills but also contains
reading and writing skills. We have our own program complete
with teacher's guides, exams, quizzes and supplementary
materials and it's very straight forward to use.
