Why
Study Arabic In Yemen? |
 |
|
|
Never colonized
by a European power, the people of Yemen
speak Arabic almost exclusively. This
provides students with the rare opportunity
to immerse themselves completely in the
language. Yemen is home to an ancient
and dynamic culture that only recently
has begun to modernize -- often on its
own terms. Steeped in a history that stretches
back to the Queen of Sheba, virtually
every region of Yemen has sites of cultural,
archaeological, and architectural interest.
From the Marib dam
of the Qur'an to the towering mud skyscrapers
of Shibam in the Hadramaut, Yemen is a
treasure waiting to be discovered.
MALI is located in the capital, Sana'a,
renowned for the architecture and bustling
souk of the vast old city, which is protected
by the United Nations with a $223.5 million
dollar investment as a unique part of
the human cultural heritage. Lying at
7,800 feet, Sana'a has a temperate climate
year-round. The Red Sea and Indian Ocean
are close by for vacations, and the cost
of living is very low. Most students spend
less than US$5.00 a day for all expenses.

Travel
To Yemen |
 |
|
|
Participants arriving
from abroad should obtain a student visa
from the nearest Yemeni Embassy or Consulate
for the duration of their study period.
MALI can provide letters of support to
Yemeni embassies in this regard. There
are direct flights to Sana'a from Frankfurt,
Amsterdam, London, Paris, Moscow, Amman,
Dubai, Cairo, Beirut and Damascus. MALI
will meet all incoming students at the
airport in Sana'a and provide transportation
to and from our student housing.
Specific in-country
travel arrangements should be organized
prior to commencement of courses.
MALI can also assist students wishing
to incorporate travel to countries near
Yemen such as the Gulf countries, East
and North Africa, etc. |
